University of Surrey
The University of Surrey is a university located within the county town of Guildford, Surrey in the South East of England. It received its charter on 9 September 1966, and was previously situated near Battersea Park in south-west London. The institution was known as Battersea College of Technology before gaining university status. Its roots however go back to the Battersea Polytechnic Institute, founded in 1891 to provide further and higher education for London's poorer inhabitants. The university is a member of the 1994 Group. The university conducts extensive research on small satellites and has a high number of staff who are members of learned societies. The most recent Research Assessment Exercise awarded nine departments at the university 5 or 5* ratings. The university has recently expanded into China by launching the Surrey International Institute with Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. The university's main campus is located on Stag Hill close to the centre of Guildford and adjacent to Guildford Cathedral. A second campus, at Manor Park, is located a short distance away and has been developed to expand upon existing accommodation, academic buildings and sporting facilities
 
Reading University
The University of Reading is a university in the English town of Reading, Berkshire. Established in 1892, receiving its Royal Charter in 1926, the University has a long tradition of research, education and training at a local, national and international level. It was awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education in 1998, and again in 2005. It is one of the ten most research-intensive universities in the UK, as well as being considered one of the top 200 universities in the world.
 
Oxford Brookes University
Oxford Brookes has roots in Oxford that go back to 1865 (when it was known as the Oxford School of Art). Oxford Brookes is the eighth largest employer in Oxfordshire, providing 2,500 jobs across the University. Oxford Brookes University pioneered the use of modular degree courses and has earned recognition for quality in architecture, art, economics, computer science, automotive/motorsports engineering, history, modern languages and publishing.[citation needed] The Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies is one of several programmes at Brookes that has expanded the university's reputation abroad. Similarly, the national Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) assigned the Department of History its foremost international ranking (5*). The Oxford Brookes Department of Architecture is one of the largest in Britain and in 2006 was named as the leading school of architecture outside London and second overall in the UK. In the most recent 2008 survey by the Architect's Journal it was ranked fourth overall.

The name is sometimes abbreviated as Oxon. in post-nominals (from the Latin Oxoniensis), although Oxf is sometimes used in official publications. The University has 38 independent colleges, and 6 permanent private halls.
 
University of Brighton
e University of Brighton (formerly Brighton Polytechnic until its re-designation in 1992) is a multi-site university based in the city of Brighton & Hove (England). The university occupies three sites in Brighton - at Grand Parade (opposite the Royal Pavilion), Moulsecoomb, and Falmer (directly opposite the University of Sussex), near the village of Falmer - and several smaller sites in Eastbourne.
